The Mighty Marching Pilots was founded by Mr. James Woodson in 1976, since this time, James has provided students the opportunity to acquire a world class talent through his musicianship.

Mr. Woodson has carried the load through adversity, trials and tribulations, while still remaining focused, upbeat, and demonstrating the willingness to finish at the top.

Having the ability to motivate, can be contributed to the outstanding group of students in which he teaches, coupled with their determination to succeed.

While James has impacted so many lives, and always provided a listening ear to our concerns and frustrations, we pause today to give him a standing ovation for the outstanding longevity, continuing contribution to the great city of Wilmington, while keeping his students at the forefront, to ensure promotion through excellence, hard work and dedication. So upon the reviewing of this publication, we pause to capture the moment of memories, the happiness, the good times, and the glory years. We reflect back to the person that meant so much to so many people, even the few who look at him as the dad they never had, the friend that would give his last, we say… thank you Woodson! For the creation of unforgettable memories, and the lasting legacy you continue to instill in the new group of students, who will now have the opportunity to echo our sentiments.

Many of the video’s you see on Face book were recorded by Hope Mendoza. it never crossed her mind that these videos would create such joy, happiness, and unforgettable memories. We pause to give Hope a standing ovation for her true to heart inspiration, countless hours of dedication, and longevity of commitment. Hope put forward to ensure lasting memories for years to come.

Hope demonstrates an unique character of livelihood, her amazing spirit truly exemplifies the very essence of teamwork, leadership, and dedication.

Once again, we say thank you Hope, for your hard work, spirit of excellence, and can-do-attitude, will always make you the fantastic person you are.
